Metro-North is knowingly noise poisoning the residents of Ossining, Croton-on-Hudson, Briarcliff Manor, New Castle and Cortlandt with UNBEARABLE NOISES-24/7. Exposure to these noises is having a negative impact on our health and quality of life. It must be stopped now!

About
Three years ago some neighbors connected. They noticed a number of train related noises including a pulsating sound that seemed to be coming from the train yard. Long term residents in Ossining had never heard any noises like that coming from the yard before. They became louder, started keeping them up at night giving them headaches, ear aches, causing anxiety etc.

What started as a simple request to Croton's officials for information has turned into a multi-year long battle between our officials, Metro North Railroad (MNR) and their noise consultants at the MTA to get quiet returned to our homes and community.

Neighbors Opposing Noise (NoN) was formed to address their growing concern over the health of our community from both the exposure to this noises as well as the emissions generated by their creation.

We conducted noise studies, worked with our local and state representatives and have tried to get MNR to come to the table with a solution to these serious problems to no avail.
Based on the number of people who are suffering with very similar symptoms and the distance between our homes it has become clear that THIS IS A HEALTH CRISIS that is impacting many in our Croton River Valley.
